My go to herb. It’s one of the 3 plants that root my plant spirit medicine work.

Someone asked me the other day what my favorite plant was and it’s Calendula.

Not only a power wound healer, it’s a main ingredient for my womb support, but it’s a beautiful plant to have in your garden.

It a great border plant and if memory services, is a deterrent for over infestation of insects.

Spiritually I use this plant for inner child and returning Joy to the mind, body and soul. Fantastic for Solar Plex and Sacral healing.

Yes you can! I wouldn’t call myself an expert, but I tend to work with the spirit of plants more often than medicinally.

Though they do go hand-in-hand

I love this plant…the ruff texture if it's stem, the spicey scent of it's bloom - everything

What a great tribute to this sunny bloom! I love using calendula in salves and lotions, but often forget to drink it as a tea, although I do add it to blends as an afterthought.

I've written about calendula and used it in products for skin applications and most recently in tea.

My favorite, besides growing it, is a face wash. I use it daily.

Does Calendula work for healing or helping the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis?

When visiting some friends, my wife had a pretty spectacular mountain bike crash, going too fast, over the bars... "I think I crashed" she says... yes darling, you are missing skin from most parts of the front of you and also the back of your arms/hands as well somehow...

Lucky crash, nothing broken but the platinum wedding ring that got squashed!

Our friends' neighbour gave her a calendula salve she had made... all those scrapes healed so very fast, especially the ones on her face. They were looking so much better even two days later!

We always had some calendula in our little garden, but now we have lots! I just put the heads in oil and leave it in the sun for some while... I use that on any wound, and in the oil I make for my poor inflamed skin.

So Y, the only plant I grow myself for medicine, the first one that showed me just how powerful a little plant could be! This was so interesting to read, thank you!

I had no idea it could be used internally, I have some dried heads left... I suspect it might help my insides as much as my outsides..

Thank you!! I grew calendula long before I knew it's used. It loves the high desert and basically no care, what a great teacher this plant is.

New to you, and excited to read more! Thank you for this precious gift!

Loving all the info, Agy! I am fascinated with how healing plants can be. Last year I grew calendula in my herb patch but didn't make use of it. This year will be different! I will try making the oil. I'm trying to switch to natural products for my skin.

Unrelated question. Can oregano oil and black seed oil be taken at the same time? Thanks
