I love this article. If anyone is looking for an easy way to incorporate astragalus into their diet, I usually put it in a reusable teabag and brew it with any stock I am making. Then I just use the stock in everything. 💚
Thank you so much for this article! I have IBD and the autoimmune disorder, psoriasis with psoriatic arthritis. I've done all kinds of research to help my gutt heal which consequently heals my skin and joints. But i hadn't tried astragalus. Currently self treating with Mediterranean diet, slippery elm bark capsules and turmeric capsules... well and many many herbal tea blends (growing a medicinal herb garden). I also noticed that getting my nervous system out of the constant fight or flight mode by giving in and getting PTSD in check has helped both too!
Slippery Elm is a wonderful herb for our GI system! I'll actually be covering it in Friday's post!
Yes, the fight or flight mode is so difficult to steer out of. I personally have trouble with it. I try to tell my body that simply calling someone on the phone does NOT mean we're going to die, but it doesn't listen. The nervous system is incredibly powerful. I'm so happy to hear you're able to help other systems by relaxing your nervous system.
Much needed here! We appear to be on the right track for Hubby's issues already, but I'm picking up some astragalus today. The part of the regimen that is going to suffer for the next 6 weeks is exercise though, as he just had rotator cuff surgery. Day 2 post-op is the worst with this (had this done twice on the right shoulder before), and he is not allowed to do anything except the very minimal exercises prescribed by physio.
LOL no problem, You're busy putting together some good information and it's already helping us to know more about what's going on! I have to pick up astragalus when I can get to the herbal store next week.
Love these articles!! It really helps me understand SO much!
Also his also helps me understand my one year old with food a little more. She has MANY sensitivities. Gets a rash in the same spot if I eat (I nurse) or she eats wheat, eggs, and dairy. I’m guessing also because food is so new to her body? ANYWAYS lol Thank you sis these articles are amazing.
I'm so glad they're helpful! I'm not well-versed in pediatrics so I don't want to give you any false info. But I can absolutely look this up for you this weekend!
Wow!!! This is a fascinating article. So many people in my life (including myself) have intermittent or chronic digestive/gut issues! Great food for thought here.
You're so welcome! I think it’s important that we understand how our own bodies work. This information shouldn’t be gatekept by the medical industry—it belongs to everyone. I’m so happy you’re enjoying these posts and finding them helpful!

Thank you so much for sharing this tip, Hannah! I'll be trying this method out!
You can also just heat it up with store bought stock and strain it out. I’ve done that too. 🙂

YES! I don't think majority of us realize just how interconnected our body systems really are. Our gut is the hub of it all.
Thank U💚
Thanks for the reintroduction to Astragalus - WOW 😍
